The Notebook

I was confused slightly when I read this passage because I kind of remember the preview for a movie called "The Notebook" and thought it was from this book. The movie may be based on this book, but I wouldn't know because I've never seen the movie. People say that I look like Noah from the movie. Anyway, I was not expecting the main character to be an 80 year old man who reads a notebook to a woman everyday. This passage didn't tell me much about what the man was trying to accomplish, but I'm guessing that he's reading a notebook with writings in it from the woman. I suspect that if this is true that the woman has Alzheimer's disease and can't remember who the man is, and the man reads to try and remind her. I think that they are married... That's just my thoughts, they're probably completely wrong because I've never heard anything about the book.
